ImportMotor was born over 30 years ago in a 25,000 square foot facility in Southern California. In our early growth, Remanufacturing Engines and Engine Components for Air-Cooled Volkswagens was the task of the day. Over the next few years we added Water-Cooled Volkswagen and Porsche 914 Engines to our product lines. Transmissions followed soon thereafter. Experience through the years and over 2 Million man-hours has resulted in becoming a top leader in Engines and Transmissions for Volkswagen and Porsche 914. Increased customer demand, and our own motivation, lead to expansion into Performance Engines and Transmissions. It has been highly successful .. today they make up over 70% of our sales.
